Caleb goes to the Dentist

Caleb went to his first dentist appointment! He was so awesome, he loved the little water and air squirter and even let the doctor "paint vitamins" on his teeth! We had been wanting him to go for sometime now, and have been taking him along on our dentist appointments so he can see what it is like. Guess what finally did it?....the little kids on Jon & Kate Plus 8 (reality show on TLC about life with a set of twins and a set of sextuplets that just happen to be Caleb's age...it's his favorite show right now and he loves to do the things the "kids" are doing). After being such a good boy he was treated to cotton candy...I know it's ironic after just coming from the dentist...bad mommy! haha.

Caleb has also been going to weight training every morning with Chip and is having a blast. He does all the same exercises as the big guys, but uses a small bar and weights....he loves doing his "cleans and jerks," lunges, high knees, butt kickers and jumping jacks.

Having Drayson has made me realize how big Caleb really is now, and how fast time goes by. We are trying to cherish every moment (when we are not dead tired of course). Drayson is getting bigger and more alert (check out his double chin in the picture below)! I have my six week check up this afternoon--hard to beleive that much time has past since Drayson's birth and that summer is practically over.

Drayson is 1 month old!

Drayson turned 1 month old yesterday, the 22nd!! We went last friday for his 1 month check up and to recheck his circumsision (ouch!)...he is doing great and the dr. said he weighed about 8 1/2 lbs! He is a good eater!

Last weekend Chip was out of town for 3 days for a soccer tournament in Portland (I just knew it was going to get crazy as soon as Chip stepped out that door). After my Friday Fiasco (see below) the boys and I stayed the weekend at my parents so that they could help me out (and mostly for Papa Kevo to entertain Caleb)! Even with their help, I got a small glimpse of what it would be like to be a single parent (exhausting) and now truly realize why it is God's perfect plan for there to be both a mommy and a daddy!

Let me just give you a small glance at what went down on Friday.

8am-chip leaves to Portland

8:30-Dog (Benny) bites and pops caleb's 12X3 ft. pool (water everywhere, caleb crying)

8:35-Drayson crying, needs fed

9:30-finallly on our way to the Dr for Drayson's checkup

10:35-5 min late for Caleb's swim lessons

11:15-mega trip to Target

12:45-meet mom and dad at shop for lunch (caleb refuses to leave)

2:30-Drayson sleeping, I thought I could nap, Caleb had other plans

2:35-Caleb puts on "black/bad" spiderman outfit and starts to terrorize the dogs

etc, etc.

Ok, so you get the idea....my day could have ended around 9:30 am, and that still wouldn't have been soon enough!!!! aahhh!
Chip has taken Caleb to weights training with him for the past two days to keep him out of my hair, which is really helpful and has let Caleb work off some energy too!
The good news is that I can look back on this and laugh...I guess until it happens again...which will probably be in less than a week! haha.

The 4th and what we've been up to

Caleb had an absolute blast at the cabin. He was of course the center of attention and had everyone wrapped around his finger! He apparently quoted sayings, such as "you're killin my Smalls," from the Sandlot movie all weekend and was super stoked when they made smores (you put the "mallow" on the "graham"). If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you definitely need to re-watch the Sandlot (though I would not recommend watching it 2-3 times in one day as our son thinks he needs to)!
Caleb also discovered Spiderman 3 last week, and promptly announced that he wanted to be the "black" spiderman because he "wants to be bad!" (yeah great!) Grandma Jane surprised him with a black spiderman costume that she brought back from Montana with her (I think she must have called and/or went to every store in Billings to find that thing). He loves it....as you can see in the pic it is pretty cool.
The rest of us laid low over the 4th...I actually missed the fireworks completely as I was asleep! I felt pretty yucky and had a terrible headache for like 5 straight days before I finally went to the doctor. Turns out I had mastitis, which is a bacterial infection that you can get when you are nursing, and basically makes you feel just overall icky (kind of like the flu). They gave me some antibiotics and I am already feeling better! Chip started morning football practices and weight lifting, so he has been getting up early and his body is having to adjust.

But as you can see, Drayson is doing great and we are enjoying our time together at home this summer.

Better Late than Never....Drayson has arrived!

Well, after weeks of being on pins and needles, Drayson John (Drace for short) has finally arrived! He was born Sunday, June 22nd, 2:11am. 6lbs 12 oz, 20in long. And the first thing Chip and I said after he was born was "oh my gosh, he looks exactly like Caleb did!"....which is also what we have heard many times over from so many people. He is doing wonderful and so is the rest of the fam! It is so wonderful to have Chip home with me everyday for the summer (I am so spoiled!) Caleb is being a fantastic big brother!!

My labor was actually not so bad (I had a wonderful epidural) and only had to push for 15 minutes. As soon as we saw that it was a boy, Chip says "well, next time..." and I'm like are you kidding me, you better be glad that my epidural was so strong (mind you this was less than 30 seconds after I pushed a baby out!).

I was even feeling well enough to walk down the aisle in Kynda and Dave's wedding on Saturday! I know--crazy. But we are taking it easy and just relaxing this week. Caleb will be taking a trip to the cabin with Nonni Donna and Papa Kevo over the 4th of July, since we are unable to all go this summer with new baby.

Hey, there's your eyes handsome guy!

Put a fork in them...they're done!

Kisses for Mommy
