A Rundown & Tooth Fairy Markings (Swear)

My apologies for the sparse posting. Kinda some big things happening around here (or not) depending on how it all works out.

Don't you hate it when people write things like that---sooo mysterious.

So I won't do that. After all my talk about not moving, we might be moving. An opprotunity has presented itself to us. We are more than halfway there, but until they sign and we sign and someone hands me the freakin' keys I refuse to get my hopes up. I told Chip the other night, buying and selling a home is making me batty. A constant swing of emotions and the unknown is pushing me to my breaking point. Like an untrustworthy teenage boyfriend who says he will pick you up at 7pm for the movies, so you spend like 4 1/2 hours getting your bangs just right and trying on your entire closet twice, only to have him call at 6:59 to tell you that he is actually going to go hang out with his guy friends and play video games or some crap like that.

Confused yet? See...Emotionally. Unstable.

Anyways, in the midst of the chaos, life carries on. MLK weekend we spent in Seattle for a miniature person hockey tournament for Caleb. My parents graciously offered to keep Kearyn, which made things so much easier to navigate, but it was our first time leaving her overnight. So that also means I'm done nursing her, which means I am done nursing babes forever. I am confused about how I feel about this. On one hand I think it was time, on the other it seems like the end of an era (a tad melodramatic? maybe).

And she really doesn't seem to mind. She is taking the bottle like a champ. Grubbin' on more and more real food (despite only rocking the same 2 teeth for the past several months). From the pace of her crawling she seems to be training for something big. Pulling herself up on everything in sight. Attempting to stand unassited (not working out so well just yet). Waves and makes a sound that sounds very similar to "Hi-yee." Yells at her brothers. 9 months next week already. Where has the year gone?

While at the previously mentioned hockey tournament, Drayson fell into the pool without his wings on, so I did my best impression of Pamela Anderson Lee (or was she Lee Anderson then?) ala Baywatch and launched myself into the pool after him. Except for I was fully clothed, did not execute a mid-wave dive, and am not nearly as "endowed," eh hem. And as I walked my soggy-wet cat-self back to the room he had the nerve to ask me "why you not put your swimsuit on go swimming mama?" And since he was totally fine it's actually mostly humorous now.

Now on to these 'tooth fairy markings.' I'm sure you're dying to know (maybe you even scrolled all the way down to find out? or not. I'm going with not). Remember, Caleb lost his first tooth on New Years day. So we did the whole put your tooth under your pillow for the tooth fairy bit. In the morning Caleb woke to find a crisp $20 bill under his pillow (whoa you say. me too. I was informed that this is very reasonable for a first tooth. I disagreed, but Great Grandpa Bob got on board with it and pitched in the $20 bucks. I was thinking more like $5. Grandparents are cool like that). Anyways, along with the dinero, Caleb also noticed some whiteish markings on his navy blue sheets near his pillow. And with total sincerity he says to us "Look! Tooth Fairy Markings! She must have left these when she was here last night!"

Call it what you want. I'm calling it what it is: Drool. But who am I to say?.

So yesterday Caleb wakes up and says "More tooth fairy markings, she must have been here last night checking on my loose tooth." And Drayson freaks and yells "someone was in our room last night!" and starts looking in the closet. I was dying. One of those times you wished you had on tape. I figure journaling it would be second best. But it just seems to lose a little something in translation.

In other news. Remember back when I was delerious with Pregnancy? and I wrote the post lamenting about how I thought I had lost my humor? Read here to be reminded. Well I think it has been slowly returning. Or maybe that's just my other personality telling me lies. See again? Truly. Unstable.

Halloween 2009 Cont.

We started off the night at Gma Jane & Papa Larry's. Pizza and candy. Kassie took Caleb around the block trick or treating. Then off to Nonni Donna & Papa KevO's. The boys had about had it by that time. Chip and I ditched the kids with my gracious parents and went off to a Halloween party where we were able to see a bunch of good friends.

Bones & Handy Manny

Yes, that's right, your eyes are not deceiving you:
that is Chip wearing man tights. He is obviously the "tooth fairy"
He tried to make me go into Albertson's without him (a no go). When we were inside he was like a freakin celebrity or something.
One lady said: "look girls, it's the real live tooth fairy right here in Albertson's"
Another guy came up and shook Chip's hand and told him he was a "brave man"
Chip complained all night that the tights "didn't breathe"
Don't you think Drays would be a pretty girl? (trying on Chip's fairy headband)

An Explanation of Bacon Bits

So while we took Caleb skating. And he schooled me in stopping. (see video below)

Drayson played at Grandma Jane & Papa Larry's. A sweet little girl from Jane's daycare was a little confused as to what Drayson's name was and kept calling him Bacon! Ha. Imagine my surprise when we showed up and she asked me "why did you name your baby Bacon?" (pretty sure that's a once in a life time question there). Chip and I thought it was hilarious and somehow it came about that Baby #3 should be referred to as Bits. Yes, as in Bacon Bits. It could be like a 2 for the price of 1 deal. Can you imagine: "Bacon Bits time to come in for dinner...." You get the idea.

Here's a quick peek at the growing "Bits": (and yes, I am using the ever popular rubber band in place of button technique if you were wondering). Doesn't look like much yet, but we are 12 wks along this week. (praying that the less nauseous days are just around the corner).

We kinda felt bad that Caleb was left out of the whole thing. Last night we asked him he'd like to be called Cruton. (imagine blank stare from 5 year old here). Apparently Chip and I thought it was funnier than Caleb.

Most people take their 4 year olds to the kiddie pool...check out what we do!

Remember how I mentioned on the previous post that Caleb wakeboarded with Papa KevO last weekend. Well Papa thought it would be an awesome idea to buy a "caleb size" wakeboard, so that Caleb could attempt the sport by "his-self" (Caleb still throws in a little "calebese" every once in a while).
So bright and early Monday morning KevO was checking out the perfect child size wakeboard on the Internet. * sidenote: now you must understand that my dad is not the most technologically sound man you will meet...like he can check his email, but sometimes creating an email is a feat for him. Ironically he has no problem finding things that he wants to purchase on the net...though purchasing them over the net is something he has not yet accomplished, so he still calls the 800# to place his order with a "live" person. Ok, so the wakeboard in all it's glory arrives bright and early Tuesday morning....and I'm not sure who was more excited: KevO, Caleb or Chip.
So without wasting any time we took "her" (the board) out and attempted to drown our 4 year old son in the Columbia River. The technique of teaching and explaining (to a not quite kindergarten age child) how to pull off this maneuver is a little more than we all bargained for. I will say at one point it involved Caleb body surfing like a porpoise for a good 20 yards before Uncle Trav showed off his best David Hasselhoff and leaped from the boat to save the day. When he reached Caleb floating in the frigid water of the Columbia, Caleb nonchalantly said: "Hey" like he had just been strolling down the street. And when later asked what his favorite part of the day was he said: "being pulled behind the boat!" Ha! So with Caleb beggin' for more and a couple new tricks up our sleeve, we will be back at it again tonight. Wish us luck.

The main man
MY guys
The Guions being goofy
Maybe tonight I will get some pictures of the actual wakeboarding (and when I say pictures, I really mean evidence for CPS).

How Dogs Get to Heaven

Several weeks ago Caleb and I were discussing the death of a friend's dog. He wanted to know the usual....will they bury him?...will he go to heaven? Yes to both and the questions usually stop there. But not on this particular day, our guy is getting very intuitive and this is the conversation that ensued:

Caleb: But, HOW will he get to heaven?

Me: Don't worry, God will come get him.

Caleb: Will God FLY down to get him?

Me: Not exactly, see God is with us all the time.

Caleb: ALL the time?

Me: Yup.

Caleb: God is in this room with us...RIGHT NOW?

Me: Well, really, it's His Spirit (just now realizing that this convo has gotten a tad deep for my audience)

Caleb: (runs to look behind the couch) Mom...you are FREAKING me out!

Me: (awkward silence) well....ummm....yeah..........................so ya wanna cookie?

In retrospect, probably shoulda just answered "yes" about the flying bit somewhere around 10 questions ago. My luck he'll go to school and tell his teachers and the 15 other 4 year olds that "God lives behind his couch." Not quite sure this is what Pastor had in mind when he gave the sermon on "spreading the GOOD NEWS!" Let's just pray that next week he doesn't ask where babies REALLY come from.
